All documentation
To install the Fidiora chat widget, copy the widget snippet from the Fidiora portal and paste it just before the closing body tag of your site template. Start on one section, such as your help center, confirm it loads and hands off correctly, then roll it out more widely.
Before you install
- Connect at least one knowledge source and test it. See Connect knowledge sources.
- Set your handoff rules so conversations that need a person reach one. See Human in the loop.
- Make sure you can edit your site template, or ask whoever can. No other engineering work is needed.
Install the widget
-
Copy the snippet
Sign in to the Fidiora portal at portal.fidiora.com and copy the widget snippet for your account.
-
Paste it before the closing body tag
Paste the snippet into your site template just before the closing body tag, so it loads on every page that uses that template. On most site builders and CMSs this is a custom code or footer scripts setting.
-
Choose where it appears first
If you want to start small, add the snippet only to the template for one section, such as your help center or pricing page. Expand once the first week of conversations looks good.
-
Publish and check
Publish the change, open the page in a private browser window, and confirm the widget appears. Ask one question your docs answer and one they do not, and check that the second hands off.
Where to place it
Where the widget appears shapes what customers ask. A few placement patterns:
- Help center first. Visitors there already have a support question, so this is the safest place to launch and the easiest to review.
- Pricing and product pages. Pre-sales questions land here, which pairs well with lead capture.
- Logged-in app. Customers inside your product ask account and how-to questions. Make sure your docs cover the product as it is today.
- Store pages. For e-commerce, see how Fidiora pairs with Shopify and WooCommerce.
Make the human option visible
Customers should always be able to reach a person. Fidiora hands off when a customer asks for a human, and your launch should make it obvious that this works. Hiding the human option is the fastest way to make customers distrust AI support. See why customers hate your chatbot.
If the widget does not appear
- Check the snippet is on the page by viewing the page source and searching for it.
- Confirm the snippet sits before the closing body tag and was not altered when pasted. Some editors strip or escape script tags.
- Clear your site or CDN cache and reload in a private window.
- Check whether a content security policy or a consent tool on your site is blocking third-party scripts.
- Still stuck? See Troubleshooting or email support@fidiora.com.
