Agentforce Alternatives: 8 Options Compared on Price, Migration and Fit
Agentforce costs $2 per conversation or $0.10 per action. Here are 8 alternatives compared on pricing unit, migration needs and monthly cost at 3,000 chats.
On this page 8 sections
The main Agentforce alternatives are Intercom Fin, Zendesk AI agents, HubSpot Customer Agent, Decagon, Sierra, Ada, Gorgias and Fidiora. At 3,000 conversations a month, Agentforce's $2 conversation model costs about $6,000, while per-resolution tools land between roughly $750 and $2,250, and none of the layer-style options need a Salesforce migration.
Key takeaways
- Agentforce is strongest when your customer data and processes already live in Salesforce.
- At 3,000 conversations a month, conversation billing costs about $6,000 before any seat licences.
- Per-resolution alternatives range from $0.50 to $1.50 per resolved issue at published rates.
- Decagon, Sierra and Ada do not publish prices, so budget for an enterprise sales cycle.
- Compare every option in cost per resolved issue, not in list price per unit.
The main alternatives to Salesforce Agentforce are Intercom Fin, Zendesk AI agents, HubSpot Customer Agent, Decagon, Sierra, Ada, Gorgias and Fidiora. If your support data already lives in Salesforce, Agentforce is a reasonable choice. If it does not, you would be adopting a CRM to get an AI agent, and most alternatives resolve the same questions for a fraction of the monthly cost, with no platform migration.
This guide is written for SaaS and SMB support leaders who have priced Agentforce and want to know what else is out there. For the detail of how Agentforce’s three billing models work, see our Agentforce pricing models guide.
What Agentforce actually costs
Salesforce publishes its Agentforce pricing openly, which is to its credit. As of September 2026:
- Conversations: $2 per conversation for customer-facing agents.
- Flex Credits: $500 per 100,000 credits, with a standard action consuming 20 credits. That works out to $0.10 per action (voice actions use 30 credits).
- Per-user add-ons: Agentforce add-ons for Sales, Service and Field Service at $125 per user per month, industry add-ons at $150, and Agentforce 1 Editions from $550 per user per month.
The detail SaaS buyers miss: on the Service Cloud pricing page, Agentforce for Service is listed as available for purchase on the Core ($195 per user per month), Advanced ($395) and Max ($550) editions, billed annually. So the agent sits on top of a Service Cloud licence for every human on your team.
Who Agentforce fits, and who it does not
Agentforce is a good fit if:
- Your customer records, cases, entitlements and order data already live in Salesforce.
- You have a Salesforce admin or partner who can build and maintain agent actions.
- You need the agent to act inside Salesforce workflows, not just answer questions.
- You are on an edition where Salesforce Foundations credits let you test cheaply.
Agentforce is a poor fit if:
- Your helpdesk is Zendesk, Freshdesk, Intercom, Help Scout or similar, and you have no plan to move.
- You have fewer than a dozen support agents and no Salesforce admin.
- Your volume is spiky, so a flat $2 per conversation makes incident days expensive.
- You want to pay only when a customer’s problem is actually solved.
The honest summary: Agentforce’s advantage is context, the data and processes already in your Salesforce org. That advantage does not transfer to a company that is not already there. Our Salesforce Service Cloud alternatives page covers the wider platform decision.

The alternatives in more detail
1. Intercom Fin
Fin charges $0.99 per outcome, billed once per conversation even if several questions are answered. It can run on top of Salesforce, HubSpot, Freshworks, Zoho, Front, Gorgias and other helpdesks with a 50 outcome monthly minimum and no seat fees, according to Fin’s pricing page. On Intercom’s own helpdesk you pay seats as well, from $29 per seat per month.
Choose it if you want a mature, well-funded agent and are happy with a $0.99 unit. Watch for how “outcome” is defined in your contract, since it covers confirmed resolutions and completed workflows.
2. Zendesk AI agents
Zendesk includes a small allowance of automated resolutions per agent per month (5 on Team, 10 on Professional, 15 on Enterprise, according to Zendesk’s help centre). Beyond that, third-party analyses and Zendesk’s plan comparison table put the rate at $1.50 committed and $2.00 pay-as-you-go. Suite Professional is $115 per agent per month billed annually.
Choose it if you already run Zendesk and want one vendor. Watch for overage billing, which we covered in Zendesk’s automatic overage billing.
3. HubSpot Customer Agent
HubSpot moved Customer Agent to $0.50 per resolved conversation in April 2026, per its own announcement. It is paid in HubSpot Credits, and paid Service Hub plans include a credit allowance.
Choose it if your CRM is already HubSpot. Watch for the fact that you are buying into Service Hub seats to get the low unit price.
4. Gorgias AI Agent
Gorgias charges $0.90 per AI interaction on annual contracts and $1.00 monthly, and each AI interaction also counts as a helpdesk ticket against your plan. It is built around Shopify.
Choose it if you are an ecommerce brand. Watch for the unit: it is an interaction, not a resolution, so unresolved chats still bill.
5. Decagon
Decagon does not publish pricing. Third-party roundups such as this 2026 breakdown describe per-conversation and per-resolution options plus an annual platform fee, but those are estimates rather than vendor figures.
Choose it if you are a large company with complex workflows and an internal team to run an implementation. Watch for annual commitments that dwarf SMB budgets.
6. Sierra
Sierra publicly champions outcome-based pricing, but the actual rates are negotiated per contract and not published. It targets large consumer brands. Our Sierra alternatives page goes further.
Choose it if you are enterprise-scale and want a heavily customised agent. Watch for implementation time and professional services costs.
7. Ada
Ada is quote-based and layers onto an existing helpdesk. It has a long history in automation and strong multilingual support. Budget for a sales cycle and an implementation project.
8. Fidiora
Fidiora resolves customer questions with AI from your own help content and routes everything else to your team in your existing helpdesk, with the handoff free. It costs $0.69 per genuine resolution, dropping to $0.45 above 1,000 a month, with no seat fees, a hard monthly spend cap, and setup designed to take under an hour. Abandoned chats, silent timeouts and handoffs are not billed, as set out in our resolution definition.
When Fidiora is not the right fit: if your agent must execute deep multi-step workflows inside Salesforce objects, Agentforce’s native access is a genuine advantage we do not replicate. If you need a vendor with a large professional services arm to design complex custom journeys, Sierra or Decagon are built for that. And if you are a Shopify store wanting order edits inside one ecommerce helpdesk, Gorgias is purpose-built.
Worked cost comparison at 3,000 conversations a month
Here is the same workload priced across the published options. Assumptions, stated plainly:
- 3,000 customer conversations a month, all handled first by the AI.
- 50% resolved by AI (1,500 resolutions). This is an assumption for comparison, not a benchmark. Your rate depends on question mix and content quality, so test with your own data.
- Six actions per conversation on average for the Flex Credits model.
- Five human agents, whose seat costs are shown separately because they vary by platform.
| Option | Calculation | AI cost per month | Seat or platform cost (5 agents) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Agentforce, conversations | 3,000 x $2.00 | $6,000 | Service Cloud Core, 5 x $195 = $975 |
| Agentforce, Flex Credits | 18,000 actions x $0.10 | $1,800 | Service Cloud Core, $975 |
| Intercom Fin on your helpdesk | 1,500 x $0.99 | $1,485 | None from Fin |
| Zendesk AI agents, committed | (1,500 minus 50 included) x $1.50 | $2,175 | Suite Professional, 5 x $115 = $575 |
| HubSpot Customer Agent | 1,500 x $0.50 | $750, less included credits | Service Hub seats, confirm with HubSpot |
| Gorgias AI Agent, annual | 3,000 interactions x $0.90 | $2,700 | Helpdesk plan sized for tickets |
| Fidiora | 1,000 x $0.69 + 500 x $0.45 | $915 | None |
Two things stand out.
First, the unit matters more than the price. Agentforce’s conversation model bills all 3,000 conversations, including the 1,500 that went to a human anyway. Resolution-priced tools bill only the 1,500 that were solved. If your resolution rate drops during an outage, conversation billing stays at $6,000 while resolution billing falls.
Second, the Flex Credits number is sensitive to action count. At six actions it is $1,800. At twelve it is $3,600. Measure actions on a real pilot before choosing, as our Agentforce pricing guide explains.
To convert any of these to a comparable figure, divide total monthly cost by resolved issues. For the Agentforce conversation model, that is $6,000 divided by 1,500, or $4.00 per resolved issue before seats.
Questions to ask any vendor before signing
- What exactly is billed? A conversation, an action, an outcome or a resolution. Get the written definition.
- Are handoffs to humans billed? Many buyers assume not and discover otherwise.
- Is there a hard spend cap? A cap that stops billing, not an alert that emails you.
- What are the minimums and platform fees? Monthly outcome minimums, annual platform fees and professional services all belong in the comparison.
- Does it require us to move helpdesks? A migration can cost more than a year of AI spend. See helpdesk migration costs for what that involves.
- Can we audit billed resolutions? You should be able to see every conversation you paid for.
- What happens at renewal? Ask for price protection in writing, given how often AI pricing changed in 2026.
Our longer questions to ask an AI support vendor list covers security and quality too.
How to decide
If you are already a Salesforce shop with an admin and your data lives there, pilot Agentforce using the Foundations credits and measure actions per conversation. If you are on Zendesk, HubSpot or Intercom, price that vendor’s own agent first as your baseline. If you want AI resolution without adopting a new platform or paying per seat, try a layer that works alongside your existing helpdesk and bills only for problems solved.
Whichever route you take, run fifty of your real customer questions through a trial and compare cost per resolved issue. That number, not the list price, is what you will actually pay.
